USB Microscope

I have to admit - I am a total sucker for any type of useless gadget - they keyword there is useless! One of my favourite websites is Firebox - a website dedicated to any and all types of useless gadgets. Unsurprisingly, I do most of my Christmas shpooing on Firebox!

Took a quick look this morning and came across this USB Microscope. A quick features check shows that:

1. It plugs into a computer (meets my ‘gadget’ criteria.
2. It magnifies things and shows the image on your PC screen (this certainly meets the ‘useless’ criteria for me).

The marketing blurb from Firebox state “This smart USB-powered instrument lets you zoom in (from 20x to 200x) on any object you fancy. And thanks to its accompanying software you can record your findings as photos and videos on your PC. Hold it like a pen or pop it on its smart little desktop stand. It even boasts an internal white LED to illuminate objects to the max. You’ll never be bored at your desk again.”

I suspect I will own one of these before long - I wonder if there is anyone who ‘needs’ a USB microscope for Christmas?
